Do you know the legal and reputational risks duty of care carries?

In this Special Event, you will learn about these risks – and the practical steps your organisation should be taking to ensure your staff are equipped to mitigate them.

Meet Christine Williamson, your guide to duty of care

For the past 20 years, Christine has worked in highly challenging environments and supported and led the HR function in many humanitarian responses across Africa and Asia. She has published articles, guides and tools and undertaken extensive research on people management and duty of care issues.

YES, I WOULD VALUE CHRISTINE’S ADVICE

What is duty of care?

Duty of care is a cross-functional topic with both managerial and employee responsibility.

Service functions like HR, health & wellbeing and safety & security provide the practice and produce the material and training, and managers and employers know their responsibilities and embed the practices.

Like any policy or practice that is in place due to harm or negligence, the prevention is as important as the response.

Are complex, high risk or even chronic issues you face a duty of care issue?

  • Is safeguarding a duty of care issue?

  • Is mental health a duty of care issue?

  • Is stress a duty of care issue?

YES, I AM FACING DUTY OF CARE ISSUES

Should I attend?

Are you in a service role, based anywhere?

Do you have a responsibility for others in your organisation?

Do you want to take duty of care seriously and keep it on your organisation’s agenda?

We especially encourage you to join this Special Event.

Employment issues such as mental health struggles, burn out, handling stress and pressure, workplace conflict, sexual harassment and exploitation, critical incidents, performance management, discrimination  – these all appear in our workplace at some point and can be prevented, managed and responded to by looking through a duty of care lens.

INDEED, I FEEL CONCERNED

What will I learn?

How can I assess the key areas of risk in my organisation that impact duty of care?

How can I ensure we do not operate in silos when we deal with duty of care practices and issues?

How do I keep duty of care on the agenda in my organisation?
